Have an impact.
Our Climate Articles Mission
We aim to offer a growing body of climate-related articles to help tackle the climate crisis. Having reliable news sources dedicated to reporting on climate change is absolutely crucial in today’s world. Climate change is a global challenge that impacts every aspect of our lives – from the environment and economy to public health and social justice. Accurate and comprehensive news coverage helps raise awareness about the severity of the issue, informs the public about its causes, consequences, and potential solutions, and encourages informed decision-making at both individual and policy levels. It holds governments, industries, and individuals accountable for their actions and responses to this pressing crisis.

Plastic Recycling is Failing, We Need a New Label
Fossil fuel companies have heavily marketed plastic recycling as a solution to the plastic waste crisis, emphasizing the importance of individual responsibility and behavior change. However, the actual impact of plastic recycling has been minimal, as evidenced by the ongoing plastic pollution crisis in the environment. In reality, fossil fuel companies have continued to prioritize plastic production and consumption, often using misleading information to downplay the environmental impacts of plastic and promote recycling as a way to shift the responsibility onto consumers. Furthermore, some companies have invested in recycling infrastructure and technologies, but these efforts are limited and often prioritize profit over sustainability. Ultimately, the focus on individual actions and recycling as the main solution to plastic waste distracts from the systemic changes needed to address the root causes of the issue, such as reducing plastic production and consumption, promoting circular economy models, and implementing effective waste management systems.
Creating a Standard for Consumers
Our carbon label for products is currently under development. It is important for consumers to understand the climate impact of products in the store because their purchasing decisions have a direct impact on the environment. The production and transportation of products contribute to greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental issues, and choosing more sustainable products can help reduce the overall impact. However, virtually all products lack labeling so that buyers can determine which ones are more eco. That is why we are developing a label. By understanding the climate impact of products, consumers can make more informed decisions and support companies that prioritize sustainability. Additionally, increased consumer awareness and demand for sustainable products can encourage companies to adopt more environmentally-friendly practices and reduce their carbon footprint. Ultimately, consumers have the power to drive change towards a more sustainable and climate-conscious economy.
